Terms of Service
Last updated: June 6, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Contour Studio, including browser-local tools, cloud processing, API access, exports, and related services. By using Contour Studio, you agree to these terms.
1. The Service
Contour Studio provides online tools for importing point data, generating grids and contours, reviewing map outputs, and exporting technical deliverables. Some features may run in the browser, while others may require cloud processing or API access.
2. Your Data and Rights
You keep ownership of the data you upload and the project content you create. You grant us the limited right to process that data only as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service you request.
You remain responsible for the data you upload and the engineering decisions you make from exported results.
3. Engineering Use
Contour Studio is a technical mapping tool, not a substitute for professional judgment, field validation, regulatory review, or safety-critical engineering analysis. You are responsible for verifying inputs, parameters, assumptions, outputs, and final deliverables before relying on them.
4. Acceptable Use
You may not use Contour Studio to violate laws, infringe rights, upload data you are not authorized to process, attack the service, bypass limits, reverse engineer restricted components, or interfere with other users.
5. Cloud Features and API Use
Cloud features and API calls may transmit project data to our servers. You must use these features only with data that you are permitted to process in an online service. API credentials, if provided, must be kept confidential and used within applicable rate limits and plan limits.
6. Privacy and Retention
Our handling of personal data and engineering project data is described in the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy includes commitments for browser-local storage, saved cloud project data deletion after 30 days, raw uploaded source file deletion approximately one hour after upload, and transient API payload deletion after processing.
7. Exports and Deliverables
Exports are provided for your review and downstream use. You are responsible for checking coordinate systems, units, value ranges, interpolation settings, contour intervals, labels, and visual styling before distributing or relying on any exported file.
8. Availability and Changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features as the product evolves. We may also update algorithms, supported formats, usage limits, or cloud workflows. We will try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
9. Paid Features
Some features may require a paid plan in the future. Additional commercial terms may apply to paid subscriptions, API plans, invoices, refunds, or enterprise agreements. If additional commercial terms conflict with these Terms, the more specific commercial terms control for that paid service.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and error-free operation.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-profit damages, or for losses caused by inaccurate input data, incorrect assumptions, unsupported workflows, or unverified engineering outputs.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create security risk, exceed applicable limits, or misuse the service. You may stop using Contour Studio at any time.
